Gifted Mentorships |
What is a Gifted Mentorship?Based at your own home high school, a Gifted Mentorship requires students to spend approximately five (5) hours each week at an off-campus mentorship site. With guidance from a Mentorship teacher, students select mentorship positions that suit their interests, skills, and backgrounds. Although students spend the majority of their mentorship time off-campus, students also regularly meet with a supportive sponsor teacher. Coursework and meeting schedules vary between programs, but all Mentorship courses are designed to get students out into the real world. For more information, please check with your school's Gifted Mentorship teacher. What types of positions are available?Mentorship positions are available in architecture, trades, veterinary science, police work, politics, medicine, art, writing, engineering, computer science, finance, business, child care, and much more. Visit a sponsoring teacher to review a list of options. How do you apply? In order to apply for the Gifted Mentorship Program, you must submit a completed application packet to the sponsoring Gifted Mentorship teacher at your school. That packet includes all of the forms below, with two copies of the Teacher Recommendation Form. Please print out a copy of every required form and meet with your sponsoring teacher to finalize your application. Thank you! |
